I am so proud to be able to call myself a published writer! I've been working on my CV recently, which has allowed me to see when and where my works have been published over the years. I want to share the list so far, and to let you know that I'll be adding to it very soon.
A CV ("Curriculum Vitae;" Latin for "the course of your life") is similar to a resume, but it has more detail, and can be more than one page in length. In fact, it should showcase all of your experience, publications, honors, awards, memberships, etc., across several pages.
As a creative writing major, I kept hearing about CVs, but I didn't start writing mine until after I graduated. The thought of writing multiple pages all about myself gave me anxiety. A couple months ago, I decided it would be beneficial for me to go ahead and make one so I could keep up with my publications, if nothing else.
I love being able to look at it now, to see where my hard work has taken me, and to add on to the list. So here it is!

Total works published in a magazine: 10
I know all of these were published in my college's literary magazine and nowhere else (yet), but in no way does that invalidate me or my written works. Being published in the Vortex is as honorable to me as being published in The New Yorker or The Atlantic. It is just as official and permanent. My writing is floating around out there, online and in anyone's hands that grabbed a print copy of the magazines. It is immortal.
Since graduating from college, I have submitted other works to various publications. So far, I have received two rejections and I am waiting to hear back from the others. I'm more excited than sad about the rejections, because at least someone read my stuff and got back to me in a timely manner.
I can't wait to see this list grow and diversify!
