Magnificent. Gillian Flynn's prose just grabs a hold of you and refuses to let go, much like the dark memories and trauma that haunt the main character, Libby, in this novel. I was completely engrossed in the story from the very first page and each character and scene was described in the perfect amount of detail - even the smallest things and especially the grotesque.
I loved this just as much as, if not more than, Sharp Objects. This is my second Gillian Flynn book, and it has quickly become apparent to me that she is the Q U E E N of writing unreliable narrators and horrible characters. Almost every character that Gillian's main characters come in contact with are THE Worst in different ways and I can't get enough. I love the disturbed feeling I experience while reading her work, and I'm thrilled to move on to Gone Girl next!
I recommend this to anyone who can handle dark material and enjoys cringing!
