This is Part Two in a two-part series about the best and worst things about high school. Click here to see Part One.
~College decisions~
Most of the college decision-making happens during senior year. This can be a very stressful time for many people like me, who still aren't sure what they want to do with their lives. In addition to that, the biggest decision is choosing where you want to go. Big or small? Public or private? In-state or out-of-state? There's also the pressure of getting scholarships and other types of financial aid. It seems like it's all just piling on top of you before you can even blink.
~Pep Rallies~
These were the worst. The whole school was packed into the gym, which was loud and hot and stuffy. There were people acting like idiots for the sake of a football or basketball game. Like that'll help the team win. All-in-all, I believe that pep rallies were a complete waste of time. All they did was gather the school in one room to scream and go wild. Yes, we may have needed that ounce of "freedom" during school, but it didn't have to be in that way.
~Dances~
Dances were the worst. I only went to one, so maybe I'm not the best person to be telling you this. Personally, I think that school dances are lame and there should not be so many of them. What's the point of buying a $350 dress to wear just one time?
~Graduation~
Graduation means the end of high school, and the end of high school means the beginning of adulthood. While this ceremony is a wonderful thing, it can also make you realize that you're growing up, and fast. After graduation, you're shoved into the hectic world of college, the workforce, paying bills, and all of that other great stuff you get to deal with once you are of age.
